Unified Framework for Fixing Our Broken Tax Code

The “Unified Framework for Fixing Our Broken Tax Code” was released today (click here to read). While the proposal provides a broad outline of what the White House and Congressional leaders are aiming for with tax reform, there is nothing specific in the package regarding WOTC.

Important for Mckenzie Chase clients is the proposal says, “While the framework envisions repeal of other business credits, the committees may decide to retain some other business credits to the extent budgetary limitations allow.”
This leaves room for Congress add the WOTC which meets the document’s stated goal in the individual section that, “The framework retains tax benefits that encourage work…”.

We will work to convince Congress that WOTC fits into their stated framework and that WOTC warrants being preserved.
