WOTC: Work Opportunity Tax Credit Program
Qualifications for New Hires
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) program enables employers to obtain tax credits for hiring individuals who come from certain target groups, including:
- Qualified veterans
- Individuals or family members receiving government social services (such as TANF, SNAP/food stamps, benefits, etc.)
- Residents of designated communities
- Long-term unemployed
- Youths hired for summer jobs in designated communities
Depending on the target group, most maximum credits range from $2,400 to $9,600 per employee.

Your Eligible Applicants
The best part is that you do not have to change your hiring practices or standards to take advantage of WOTC. You probably hire people all of the time who qualify and don’t even know it. McKenzie Chase will work with you to screen applicants and employees for eligibility then process all of the required forms to claim tax credits – which are delivered directly to you. We can even process these electronically through e-credits.
Risk-Free and Turn-Key
We do not only do all of the work to get you the credits; we also complete the IRS Form 5884 to file with your return.
Our fees are risk-free and contingency-based. We only charge you a small percentage of what you save.
